This is a work in progress. First try after reading about them in Manchester, via http://bundobust.com/ seriously cool food and drink. Amazingly I couldn’t taste the sprouts, in the ones I made, spice was nice though. Bhajis take longer to cook than I thought. I will cook them until they are darker next time. 180 degrees is what you want, a doughy interior is what you dont want. Other recipes call for shaping the mixture, not mine, I like the rough look, with crunchy exterior. My recipe was totally vegan. Seriously go eat at Bundobust.com Manchester or Leeds.
Also check out the mixes of BLD no. 50 in Mixmag’s 2017 list
Recommended – Alchemist Manchester. The best range cocktails I have seen, Monkey Gin, lots of theatre. Great results.
Afflecks Palace Manchester- lots of cool things in this market
Wahaca– Good Food and Cocktails, nice vibe
Goose Dislikes “Presso”, seriously overpriced not very good. I’ve had better pizza from a supermarket. The calzone looked like something from Greggs.
“Nandos”, boring again supermarkets offer better.
https://twitter.com/nGoose1/status/917056968040374272 Low Chimes are very good and recommended by the amazing Lucy Rose. Lucy Rose UK tour coming up soon, don’t miss out, really good live. Tickets selling fast. Rae Morris new stuff is very cool, saw her on the last tour seriously good. http://www.agnesobel.com/ another one Lucy recommended , she did the theme to BBC4 cool dark Canadian series “Cardinal” stunning.
Berlin is still smashing it as is Sweden try Skott @skottmusic or La Fleur
Well worth doing
Use good ingredients like the Italians do.
Highlight of London was Gunpowder at Spitalfields what a find. Highlight of Blackpool was the company, plus the ice cream. Nice curry, but Gunpowder was still fixed in my mind. Highilight of the Lake district? All of it! Amazing scenery, it’s been so long. The best beer I have had since I was running a bar. Jennings served from Wateredge Inn was stunning! Big Thanks to the drivers and lovely hospitality as ever!
Bowness Lake District Fish and Chips really good another great find!
Streetfeast allways delivers, Winerama is a must! You Doughnut is also a must!
If you get the chance to eat in Shakeshack London, don’t! Its really gone down hill since my first visit, when it opened. Service is OK burger was not amazing. Fries were Cold, second batch given free were warm on top and cold below. I got a free concrete for my troubles, a mc Flurry is as good as possibly better?
YHA Bolsover Road was cool. Dover Street Apartments were excellent, basic clean cheap quiet, very good service. Premier Inn was again really good, don’t bother with the food though.
More Meera Sodha, more amazing results! Seek this out, her new book is out July 7th Preorder on Amazon now. The last book is amazing, I am certain this one will also be fantastic!
Curry paste, onion, ginger, garlic, water, Cauliflower, Paneer, frozen Peas, chilli powder, natural yogurt.
Brown the paneer first then remove it. Then fry the onion to light brown, then add garlic ginger cook until soft add chili powder fry for a minuet. Now add cauliflower and paste fry for a few minuets, add water a little at a time until cauliflower is cooked but still firm add peas and paneer cook until peas are done and paneer is warmed through. Now stir in the yogurt, until warmed. Season to taste.
If you have it, chopped mint or coriander or wild garlic or chives all go well on top or stirred though just before serving.
*Paneer is very cheap cost me £1 reduced from £1:50 from Tesco’s. Asian shops are probably even cheaper. Meera Sodha does a great chilli Paneer seek her books out, seriously good ! http://meerasodha.com/
